I'm attempting to publish my nonfiction parenting book, The Witchy Montessori Child: Liberating Little Lives, which draws together two movements with cult-like followings: the revolutionary qualities of Montessori education and the ancient yet trending appeal of witchcraft.
Montessori is the largest private school system in America, with deep respect and international reach. Parents who like Montessori are often interested in crunchy parenthood, natural living choices, spirituality, and wellness—all which overlap with witchiness.
Witchcraft has exploded into mainstream culture; the number of witchy books, spells, and products that are on the market has skyrocketed. In the United States book market, witchcraft book sales grew by 60% between 2018-21. Witchiness is now spiritual, cultural, and trendy. And it’s very feminine and queer-inclusive—which lends itself well to my queer experience.
To me, witchcraft is not about hocus pocus and Harry Potter spells. It's about being connected to the earth and finding within ourselves a deep desire to steward, rather than dominate, our natural world. It's about feeling peace in your heart everytime you see the moon; collecting cool rocks on walks; and enjoying oracle decks and tarot.
So much of parenthood and witchy values complement each other--the responsibility, the appreciation for the sacred, finding magic in the mundane.

And yet, no book exists at the intersection of these two worlds. The Witchy Montessori Child is the very first to weave Montessori’s radical anti-capitalist vision of the child with witchcraft, showing the parallels between ritual, nature, cycles, sacred spaces, and liberation.
It creates a crossover appeal between two consistent loyal audiences. It speaks to mothers, fathers, and queer parents; and is inclusive of all types of caregivers.
It’s for the thousands of parents who want to parent gently, intentionally, and are open to methods outside the mainstream. Any parent who follows witchy or Montessori accounts on social media is a candidate to enjoy this book.
The result is a guide for parents, educators, and caregivers of children ages 0-6 who are intrigued by child-led pedagogy and intuitive wisdom, with accessible lessons, spells, and provocative reflection questions in every chapter.

I've been receiving a lot of personalized rejections from agents--which is its own type of affirmation, albeit a discouraging one, since I hear that so many people just never hear back if their manuscript isn't right or good enough.
But my personalized feedback has largely told me that for a nonfiction book, I need a larger platform. I currently have 34,000 followers or subscribers across all my platforms, and I need closer to 75,000 to be considered.

That's where you come in! If you believe in my work, or are intrigued by this book, or just want to help an ambitious mum get her book out there, you can help.
Share my reels, my blog posts, my content.
Buy me a coffee so I can keep prioritizing my writing.
And if you have any connections in the publishing world--I'd be stoked.

Thanks for your support, all. I truly believe this book fills a niche that hasn't yet been met, and I can't wait for the day I see it on the shelves and in your homes.
